Hyper-Learning Is Behavioral

One of the unique aspects of this book is its focus on behaviors. Good intentions are not enough. It all comes down to how you behave. It is through behaviors that we act. It is through behaviors that we operationalize concepts and what we believe. Behaviors are how you connect, relate, listen, ask questions, respond to questions, think, manage your thinking, manage your emotions, build trust, enable others, etc. We will focus in the book on the key behaviors that will help you become a Hyper-Learner. You will have the opportunity to take a Hyper-Learning Behaviors Diagnostic, choose which foundational behaviors you need to improve and design your Hyper-Learning Behaviors Improvement Plan using the science of behavior change. I have used this Diagnostic with over 3000 senior executives and to everyone’s surprise their honest appraisals showed that everyone had major work to do. That is not surprising because most of us have not been trained to focus on our behaviors. Improving behaviors sounds easy to many people, but it is not—because you have to define those behaviors in observable granular ways so that you can measure your rate of improvement. Then you will be on the Journey to being a Hyper-Learner.
